My son is 7 months old now and he seems to have a new little routine. At whatever point during the day he will have pooed and needs to be changed. When I go up to change him he pees once the diaper is off. At first I thought it was a coincidence, but then he does this all the time - and laughs!!! It is like he is holding it in waiting to do this. I tried not to smile, but it is so funny. I have stopped smiling now, but he continues with this little routine - any suggestions. Thanks so much

He's laughing because Mommy is playing with him. He has neither the physical or mental control to do it on purpose. When you open his diaper the cool air hits his moist warm parts and he pees. I think most little boys do this. My trick was to open the diaper a bit and lay it lightly back down - don't fasten it. Then he pees in the diaper, and then you change him. No more wet Mommy! My big problem was that my son would only poop in a fresh clean diaper!

It's pretty natural for boys to do this. I remember my little brother shooting the ceiling one time. It's probably the cool air and release of the pressure of the diaper that's moving things along.

Fake him out with the diaper coming off, slowly peel it back until there is air flow and be ready with a wipe or diaper and quick cover it up once it starts. They now make pee-pee tents for little boys to try and control the flow once the diaper is off... but a wipe works just as well in a pinch.

Hmm, he's pretty young to be able to figure out the concept of that. The only thing I can think of is, he likes your facial reaction. It must jut be a coincidence.

I wouldn't take his down off as soon as you lay him down since he's pees every time. Wait 2-5 minutes, then start with his diaper. Always have a towel or burp cloth handy just n case. You could hold it in your mouth and when he starts to pee, let it drop out of your mouth, then cover his wee wee.

Since he is too young to discipline, don't even bother making any reactions period, keep a serious face. It will get old faster if you don't have fun with it.

Good luck, stay dry!!!!! :)

If he have been somewhat older i might think of, sure, he's doing it on objective. yet 7 month olds don't have sufficient bladder administration to certainly carry it in till mommy alterations the diaper. The plenty greater in all probability reason is that toddlers (boys extraordinarily) are inspired to pee while the chilly air hits their penis. So, as quickly as you pull returned his diaper, the chilly air hits it, and Voila! he pees. answer? Have the clean diaper open and carry it over his penis even earlier you pull the grimy one away. It takes some situations to get the coordination down pat, yet you will exchange into an authority quickly. i'm style of shocked it took that long for this to ensue. maximum boys start up doing this fairly early . . . interior the newborn era.

He wants to pee free! Many boys do that. My daughter use to do that with me. It didn't last long. Just hold the diaper in front of him and catch the pee. It is funny though. My mom had to change my brother in the bathtub for six months because he did that to her.

Little boys, when their penis is exposed to cooler air, tend to pee...and it seems that happens when their diaper is taken off. He isn't doing it on purpose. You might wait a bit longer to change his soiled diaper to see if he wets it before you change him.
Go ahead and laugh. It is funny and he is enjoying the time with you.

Wait, the fun days are just beginning, if you don't get there on time, there will be poo in places you least expected because as soon as they figure out how to take off the uncomfortable diaper, IT ISN"T FUN THEN!

that's cute. hold a diaper over him while changing so when he pees it will just hit the diaper. I don't think at that age he can hold it. Maybe its the cold air hitting him that makes him pee.
