Because Catholics are against any form of birth control and they urge followers to "be fruitful and multiply' without any regard as to whether the couple can even afford 12 kids, and if they believe deeply they will live in near poverty conditions, even though both parents might and have decent incomes, to just reproducing constantly. Using no birth control at all and just letting God decided your fate as to how kids you'll have.

True catholics would rather say they are sterile then admit they might be using any form of birth control, even if it's the pull out method. Seriously.

I think the church thinks the more kids the more money in the future. I was raised Catholic but am no longer catholic.

I hear that in this religion they don't believe in Birth Control methods, BUT, if you ask me, I think that right there is just an excuse due to the expense of the pills AND that they don't want to feel guilty for taking them!
I don't see anything wrong with Birth control! That's why it's OUT THERE!!!! It's better to control the population than to have more overpopulation going on, AND I add, the "kids" nowdays having babies, and unwanted, besides!!!!!!!

CASE in POINT------ anyone can go on the Metro news via the internet and look up the case about a newborn baby's body found in a recycling plant earlier this week, in Escondido, Ca.

unwanted babies are being born all the time!
It's time responsible people GET responsible and protect themselves! STD's & Diseases included!!!!!

Catholics do not believe in birth control, so yeah some people probably will assume that. My brother and his wife have 6 kids and they hear that all the time too.

Really? That's funny. I haven't herd of that before. My parents have 8 kids and I don't think any one has ever asked that before, but maybe Catholic people have a lot of kids.

Because they don't believe in birth control.

we are catholic and we have 7 kids. But I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Because Catholics used to not believe in birth control.

I must admit when I see large families I usually assume they are either Catholic, Baptist, or Mormon.

According to strict Catholic doctrine, you should not use contraception/birth control methods because it's like going against reason for union of marriage/sanctity-to procreate, etc....

Same thing happens to me with all my little pumpkins.

I say NOPE, not Catholic, I have kids because I want to & can provide for them NOT because some celibate man in Rome tells me to reproduce.

Because generally, Catholics do not believe in birth control of any form.

No clue. Having a lot of kids doesn't mean Catholic. I'm Catholic and I have never heard of that.
