If it has a thermostatic valve on it, take off the head, (either a knurled ring or clamp with screw in, under the head), tap the pin several times, should work ok, replace head. If this fails, try turning all others off as suggested, if still no joy, have the system flushed and install a new trv to the offending rad. I notice we have an advertiser again! HND, that is not allowed, there are several businesses give advice here, but we don't advertise it!

Maybe a bad thermostatic trap.
- A thermostatic trap is located at the bottom of the radiator (close to the floor) where the pipes start to come out of the radiator.
- What it does is open & close allowing condensate (water) to flow under the "bellows" (or valve). If the bellows are completely expanded then it will not open, to allow the water out.
It would take a professional to take that off & put a new one in. Just because you want to make sure that the bellows don't get damaged while installing.

There maybe sludge in the bottom. Has the pipes got anywhere where an airlock could form, and not be able to rise either into the rad. or to the vent at the top of the system. You could also try opening up the other valve on the rad opposite the control valve, but remember how many turns you make on it. The valve is the same as the control one, it's there so to restrict flow so that all the rads are served with hot water.

its air bound if u have baseboard heat and u refer to them as "radiators" if u really mean "radiators" and they r filled with "water" and not "steam" u have a mono-flow system and on ur radiators u have a vent and a adjustable valve if this radiator is in the same vicinity of the thermostat somebody might have closed it almost so in was closed and over the years deposits close it completely open on close the valve a few times in remember the amount of turns in either directing to b able to set it back to its original setting

See if it has a knob you can turn around, it's usually on the bottom on one side and turns one way for hot and the other for cold, it might just be that it's turned all the way to cold so that no hot water is passing through it.

Turn the valve down on all the hot rads and see if this helps. Sounds like your rads need balancing. it's a wheelhead valve you turn down, don't turn the lockshield valve. Turn the valves down to a mid way setting.

Bleed out the air from the valve at the top of the radiator, you will need a valve key-about a £1 to buy.
