If I remember correctly, a "divinely inspired" movement and a secular, "earthly" corporate-state authoritarian government aren't exactly compatible with one another.

Sounds contradictory, does it not?

Great observation.
(Adressing a few things I just read before I answer in the next paragraph):
People who question OBL, may not know that we didn't always call him a terrorist; he used be called a "freedom fighter" when we gave him STAM's (shoulder to air missiles) and funded his little "group" while they faught the Soviets in Afghanistan. Also OBL's family who are very influential with the ruling family of Saudi Arabia, send several terrorists to ram planes into our buildings and instead of lashing back at them, we go after our old ally Saddam??!!! Also to the people who make the argument that we had to take out Saddam because he was a bad man and killed his own people, I say that at the height of his murderous roll, he was our undeniable ally and we not only turned a blind eye to the atrocities, we armed him and supported him through it:

"Islamo-fascism" is coined by the radical extremist sect of the already delusional neocons, who happen to be exactly like the terrorists radical extremists they abhor.
The phrase is one of the many propeganda charged linguistic tools used to brain wash the masses and to form their opinions FOR them.
Conversely, but working toward the same goals consider this:
Zionist masters destroy villages OUTSIDE their borders, (the same borders they happily accepted after taking even more land during additional occupations). After illegally penetrating neighboring land they destroy the villeges and built their homes right on top of stolen property. If anyone else did this, we'd be outraged and call them rapists, but when it's the "untouchables" doing it, it's so sweetly referred to as "settlements". They're just "settling".... isn't that nice?
People need to look more at what we do, rather than what we call it.

ps, I like you other q's and a's and I love your answer about your "favorite bush lie"! I'm adding you to my contacts. I also noticed that we have many fans/contacts in common.

Its a word coined because they wanted to get rid of Religious extremists as a term used to apply to this group of people. The republican right takes offense from the idea of religious extremists because people claiming to be christians in the extreme right are indistinguishable from what are now called islamo-fascists. They want to make the USA into a strongly nonsecular state if not a christian theocracy. Plus being called a fascist hurts peoples feelings.
You are left asking for the word christo-fascism to describe these people.

Facism is a form of socialism in which the oposition to any government action is immediately snuffed in any way possible.
No opposition to government decisions is tollerated.
With Islamo-facism, there is no toleration to religious desent.
Even if you are a Moslem as well. If you are an infidel, lets say a christian for example, you could well wind up in prison, or they'ed cut your head of, whatever the Islamic laws call for or the Ayatollahs decree is your fate.
Definately not a nice way to live your life!

It isn''t anything. Islam is a religion. Fascisim is a particular political/economicsystem based on business control of the state. Nothing in the Islamic radical's agenda remotely resemples fascism. It soesn't resemble actual Islam, either, but that's another issue.

The phrase comes from the right wing--it is meaningless--simply a stringing toghether of two words in a way intended to smear anyone who is a Muslim. A pointless propaganda epithet, in other words. I very much doubt the neocons evenknow what fascism is--which is a bit ironic, since it's essentially what they advocate for America.

The fascism part in the name islamofascism doesn't directly refer to the classical political fascism.
It refers to the inherent anti humane ideals they share and the wish they have to destroy our enlightened civilization. Another thing fascism and radical Islam have in common is that the West decided no longer to negotiate with the leaders of the movement because that's considered pointless due to their nihilistic idea's that are incompatible with anything we stand for. That might very well be the biggest thing they have in common.

Osama Bin Laden: “Death Is Better Than Living On This Earth With The Unbelievers Amongst Us.” BIN LADEN: “O young people of Islam: Follow the orders of Almighty God and His messenger and kill those people. Follow the example of Muhammad Bin-Musallamah and his companions. Death is better than living on this earth with the unbelievers amongst us, making a mockery of our religion and prophet, God’s peace and blessings upon him. Fear God, try to please Him, and do not consult with anyone regarding the killing of those unbelievers.” (Translation Of Bin Laden’s 52-Minute Audiotape, Posted On Jihadist Website, 4/27/06)
Al-Qaeda Charter: “There Will Be Continuing Enmity Until Everyone Believes In Allah. We Will Not Meet [The Enemy] Halfway And There Will Be No Room For Dialogue With Them.”
Al-Qaeda Training Manual: “The Confrontation That Islam Calls For … Knows The Dialogue Of Bullets, The Ideals Of Assassination, Bombing, And Destruction.” “Islam does not coincide or make a truce with unbelief, but rather confronts it. The confrontation that Islam calls for with these godless and apostate regimes, does not know Socratic debates, Platonic ideals nor Aristotelian diplomacy. But it knows the dialogue of bullets, the ideals of assassination, bombing, and destruction, and the diplomacy of the cannon and machine-gun.” (Al-Qaeda Training Manual, Available At: http://www.au.af.mil/au/awc/awcgate/terrorism/alqaida_manual/, Accessed 9/5/06)
Al Anbar Plan: The Al-Qaeda Governing Structure Should Include An “Execution Unit” Responsible For “Sorting Out, Arrest, Murder, And Destruction.”

The ragheads in Tehran seem to think they have the answer, but I'll be damned if I will submit to "Islamonazi" style of oppression !

The term Islamofascism is misleading. There is nothing "fascist" about it, it's simply religious fanatical dictatorship dressed up in a false belief / version of the Muslim religion.

Kill all Islamonazis !

To Muslims who reject this crap, peace be unto you, but why aren't you standing up AGAINST it ?

People who kill their OWN SISTER for "dishonouring" the family and the same people would kill civilised European people for a cartoon of a man who misled millions of people are fascists, no matter if they call it religion. Hence the term Islamofascists , a perfect description of these throwbacks.

"If America will not convert on its own, we will eventually become strong enough to topple the government and convert her people by force."
Direct quote - AlQaeda.

Does this sound "divinely inspired" - or perhaps more of an ideology of world domination?
I see no contradiction here.

A provocative term used by the political Right to incite Americans to war. (Another layer of deception that will take its toll, take its hostages among the gullible, and take time to deconstruct. Glad you started the process.)

It is like other creative vocabulary that arises when one is at war to objectify and maintain hatred of a chosen enemy. Gooks, little yellow people, Bosch.... whoever they are, we are supposed to fear them and exterminate them.
