Why would anyone work for the Department of Homeland Security???? You got me.
Here's what confuses me though: Julie Myers had no experience and couldn't get approved by Dems or Republicans in 2005. She gets appointed during Congressional recess by W, does a decent job, gains experience and then it's this Halloween costume that snags her up in 2007.
Not excusing the costume, or the poor judgement - just questioning our priorities.

What disturbs me most about this story is that government employees have time to hold a Halloween party (no doubt at taxpayers' expense) while this country is in crisis and chaos.
Why aren't our public servants 'taking care of business' as they enjoy excessive salaries and lavish benefits, courtesy of the American taxpayers?? -RKO- 11/17/07
