The day after thanksgiving is called Black Friday.
Stores normally have awesome sales then, usually alot of electronics.
Also, after christmas they have good sales too. Because everyone is returning christmas gifts, the stores have to sell them again, and noone needs to buy anything.

The day after Thanksgiving is when you will get the best prices.. but you have to be an early riser as usually the sales start by 5-6am.

Before it is selling all the thanksgiving day fixings so that you can eat yourself silly then the day after because getting together with your family puts you in the holiday spirit and makes you want to spend money with the biggest motivator being sales. People want to spend more if they save more.
