I agree- there's no set time where it stops.
More bleeding at this point means you're probably overdoing it. Get off your feet and rest for a couple of days and see if it eases up.

It can last a long time. Any bleeding in the first 56 days PP is normal. Like the other answer said, if you're filling pads within an hour or two, and you have to keep changing them, then you need to call your doctor immediately.

Holyshit, who gave you that information? Its totally and completely and utterly wrong.
You can bleed just like a period, heavy and with clots and dark and bright red for the whole 6 weeks. There is no set date to when it has to change to pink and clear. What would be excessive bleeding is when you are over flowing pads every couple hours.
I think I bled heavily for atleast 2 1/2 weeks, if not longer. I actually went to pink and clear and then back to blood for a little while.
Chill out, and for God's sake find whoever gave you that information and slap them.

With #1 I bled VERY heavily for FOUR weeks and then it slowed down, but didn't completely stop until 6 weeks postpartum. I called my dr. and he said it was normal and he didn't even want to check it out. With #2 I only bled for 2 weeks, but that birth was much less traumatic to my body and I think that may have had something to do with it.

relies upon on how lots you're bleeding. while you're saturating a large pad in some hours for all time, you're able to desire to call your common practitioner. while you're wearing a mini pad and that's merely slightly recognizing, then you definately are interior primary limits.

It's normal for some. But you should still get checked- it's not normal for others. In some cases it can be a symptom of retained placental tissue, which can cause a very nasty infection.

Are there clots larger than a quarter in size? If so, this is when I would contact the doctor. No harm in contacting them now if it will make you feel better though!
