Unless a woman is using test strips to know exactly what day she's ovulating she usually doesnt have sex on the right day.
Sperm survive for so long in your system because of that- they hang out longer in hops of surviving long enough to reach the egg. In some cases up to a week.
Lots and LOTS of women get pregnant by having sex before they ovulate.

Well I have been pregnant a couple of times. Although I can't say I got pregnant 2 days before ovulation. I can tell you that I have always gotten pregnant way different times then the books or doctors say that I am ovulating. Once according to the doctor I could get pregnant around the first of the month and I know for a fact that I got pregnant on the 14th cuz that was the only day I actually had sex. So I think there is no way of telling when or how your body works, cuz everyone's is different. So basically it is up to your body~ :)

Sperm can stay interior you for as much as 5 days after intercourse, so in case you ovulate in that element physique, you may get pregnant. because of the fact that maximum women do no longer know precisely while they ovulate, it is puzzling to pinpoint precisely while concept happens. as an occasion, when I have been given pregnant this time, i became very specific I knew precisely as quickly as we had had intercourse and conceived, yet when I had the 1st couple ultrasounds, the toddler became measuring some days smaller than that. So, it the two meant that ovulation took place some days after intercourse, so the toddler wasn't as previous as i presumed, or it meant that the ultrasound equiment has a margin of blunders--the two or the two would desire to be the case. besides, i'd say the prospect is diminished, if intercourse happens a pair days in the previous ovulation, yet there continues to be of venture. concept relies upon on extremely some issues for this reason, the standard of the sperm, the situations on your vagina, uterus and fallopian tubes (how "friendly" are they to the sperm,) so it is not ordinary to quantify it. desire any of this facilitates.

Yes! Sex 2 days before ovulation is perfect timing, as it gives the sperm enough time to get where they need to be at the time of ovulation. I was charting this time, and I know for sure that I ovulated on CD 16 and we had sex on CD 13 and 14. Have you tried using OPK's to help you time sex better and not have to guess your ovulation? Once I combined that with charting, we got pregnant. Good luck! Hope this time works for you!

yes, first off, sperm can take up to 72 hours to find the egg. Second, Ovulation and your body is never as exact as the science says so even if you calculated it and your cycle is dead on you can always ovulate a day or two before or after the time you are suppose to.
