That's not even the Omega sign, unless you think the Colts are as dumb as this question. Now the C that fell is pretty good. An Omega sign though goes in some toward the opening and has the lines off it.

Well, I think that when you figure out why the Patriots have a long-haired alien wearing a star on his pirate hat on their helmet, you'll have your answer as to why the Colts put an upside-down omega on their helms.

It is also a horseshoe, horses and colts would wear them so they have a horseshoe on the helmet.
