Not until grad school! By then I was teaching all day, raising a family, and going to school at night for my Master's degree. I don't know if I was punchy or just tired of being shy, but suddenly everything was funny to me, and I couldn't keep my mouth shut in class. Not only did all the other students laugh at everything I said, but the professors did, too. I did not distract anyone from learning, and I don't think I was rude to the instructors. The humor just lightened the mood and made everyone receptive to learning. My son was the class clown since third grade. In my thirty years of teaching, I have had at least one clown in each class, and I thoroughly enjoy them. Humor is a tremendous gift!

like it was hard to be a a girl class clown, but i managed it.
there was me and this boy who were always pretty funny growing up. still are.
