Bush has been a dictator for the past 7 long years. He is a war criminal and evil individual. He is very much capable to perpetrate this and remain in power in order to achieve his evil and criminal goals.

Given the fact that the war mongering Bush is and has been waging an illegal war without any Constitutional declaration of War ALL BASED UPON FILTHY STINKING LIES that has seen the slaughter of over 400,000 innocent Iraqi civilians and now sees some 68% of Americans demanding an end to this crime against humanity and Bush giving WE,THE PEOPLE the FINGER, do you mind telling us what the hell difference suspending the Constitution would make especially since so far the Supreme Court has ruled in three cases that Bush has indeed violated the Constitution.
When will Americans realize that of all the western democracies ,the US Republican form of govenment is by far the least democratic and has the LEAST controls on the power of it's leader from not being able to elect their own leader in the first place to giving him a ludicrously un-democratic "veto power" that makes a mockery of the very essense of democracy and that is the majority rules.
The entire failure of the US Congress both now and in the past to EFFECT THE DEMOCRATIC WILL OF THE PEOPLE is mostly due to the un-democratic veto power and
and the equally ludicrously un-democratic un-proportionately elected Senate .
The dirty little secrete is that the Founding Fathers had little use for WE,THE PEOPLE and held them in contempt and throughout the entire Constitution made rules and regulations to thwart the will of WE THE PEOPLE and give the power to the elitist executive Branch .
No, the US already has and has always had an effective dictatorship.

Several laws were passed after 9/11 which give the president such powers if there is a national emergency. Even so, in reality it would depend or whether or not the courts, congress, and the people would go along with it. From what I've seen in this country since 9/11, I am sorry to say that there would be little resistance to it if a national emergency story was pushed onto the country. People fell for the WMD in Iraq story, even though international news stories available on the Internet made it clear that the Bush administration was lying.

Theoretically yes, go to White House site and look up executive order on national continuity of government.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05/20070509-12.html
This is written in legal but I understand it is the same as before except President does not have to share with the citizens or congress exactly what the emergency is; and since congress does not know the nature of the emergency it cannot act to end the suspension of government; and since the people don't know, how can we take it to court?
I am not saying this is likely to happen but I am saying that we should all be aware of the existence of this executive order. Because even if you are a bushie, you may not want this sort of power resting with a democratic executive branch.

I believe that criminal Bush is already a dictator. To answer your question of course it is very much possible for Bush-Cheney regime to suspend our Constitution and remain in power for indefinite amount of time. Those criminals are capable of anything.

He probably wants to more than anything else. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries it. However, somehow I don't think he will try it nor would he really get away with it.
