Transpose 6

3x + 6 - 6 = 12 - 6

3x = 6

Divide both sides of the equation by 3

3x / 3 = 6 / 3

x = 6/3

x = 2

x=2 because you subtract 6 from both side which would give you 3x=6 then divide by 3 and you end up with x=2
