Not anytime soon, The amount of tax revenue that tobacco generates is too great to ever consider outlawing it. Congress could never find a suitable replacement for it.

Well that can be answered two ways.
1. If the growers have anything to do with it and the tobacco
plants keep processing it probably not. Remember the Growers and Tobacco Companies have a powerful political force behind them.
2. If the Non Smokers keep forcing the issue of a Tobacco Smoke free place continues and many Counties have established Smoke Free establishments. Restaurant's and Office and work places. And are now trying to get smoke free towns and cities. This will end up where a Smoker cannot smoke in his/her home.

No, because that's where the gov. gets its tax moolah so why would they want 2 make tobbacco trade illegal!
Now yes it's illegal 2 smoke in many public places, but that has nothing 2 do with gov.economic taxes.

If the dangers of smoking are true, the government should ban it for health reasons if nothing else. Of course this will allow organized crime to bootleg tobacco products.
When prohibition was passed, it was unfavorable with the majority of the people but rammed through by a bunch of bible thumpers and it proved to lead to organized crime.

No. But I do think the day will come when it becomes so unprofitful to grow it, or process it, that tobacco products become very rare.

The government makes too much money off of it. Plus it kills people, and the government is all for that.

Not a chance. Taxes rule out that from ever happening.
