Anyways, no I have not received prenatal care yet because I am only at 4 weeks. But trust me I am sure I will re-ask my Dr all of the same questions I ask here :)

It's a mucousy substance that sits inside the opening of the cervix, blocking the path between the vagina and the uterus. It's just mucous. Like thick snot.

It usually does not come out until late pregnancy, as a result of changes in the cervix like softening and effacing and maybe a bit of dilation. It is not a reliable indicator that labor is imminent. It may come out all at once in one big chunk, or it may come out a little at a time over several days or weeks.

Its an accumulation of mucus within the opening to the uterus or cervical canal. It creates a protective barrier between the outside world and your baby. When it gets close to delivery time it simply leaves your uterus and leaves an open for the baby to come out of. Sometimes you lose it all at once or by little pieces or globs (not to be gross) Its usually white or pinkish and more like a thick discharge.

Is axactly what it sound like, a plug made out of mucus. But is not a bad thing, it simply grows in the opening of your cervix and then it is expelled when you start to go on labor.

The fact you said "eww" is a little bit concerning. The plug isn't a big deal.
