depends on what i'm letting go of.
if it's a good thing, we tend to want to hold on to eternity.
if it's a bad thing we might not see it in time.
ponder these in time;
TO MUCH OF A GOOD THING CAN HURT. eg. the sun
TO LITTLE OF A BAD THING CAN HURT. eg. being selfish
society says that we should not be selfish but there is a good selfishness (that is to care for the well being of self) and there is a bad selfishness (being greedy, taking from others all the time).
THERE'S THE, HURT SO GOOD FEELING.
THERE'S THE, GIVE IT TO ME TILL IT HURTS FEELING.
SOMETIMES YOU CAN BE DYING TO BE LOVED.
SOMETIMES LOVING SOMEONE OR BEING LOVED BY SOMEONE CAN HURT.
Roughly it's all about the balance of choices in ones own journey through time as it exist, here and now as we know it.
I can let go, when the time is Right FOR ME. Not because someone thinks I should at the moment.
