Read that, and please tell me how you can justify by "law", the giving by a COURT of 200 lashes for a woman who was GANG RAPED by several men!?!? Because she was caught "alone" in the company of unrelated men. EXCUSE ME??? She was RAPED by the idiots? Okay they were sentenced too -- but MY GOD she was the victim! She was also in the car at the time of her exboyfriend (OMIGOD -- what a travesty!), and the gang raped them BOTH. But she gets the most severe punishment? What kind of ***-backwards "justice" is that?

Sharia law -- not just for extremists anymore! (But nuts I'd say!) Then in Ontario, we had a minority that wanted to introduce special Sharia law tribunals in ONTARIO CANADA! Can you believe this? Thank GOD the government quashed that idea but fast, but I cannot believe the gall that some have thinking they can come to a new and loving country to further spread their idiocy instead of respecting the CORRECT rule of humane, secular law. And no, normal, loving, secular-law-abiding Muslims are not included in this group or post above.

Thoughts on this article? Sorry for the rant, can’t believe how angry this makes me as a loving Christian…

Muslims cannot speak out against Sharia law without speaking out against the Koran. This is forbidden in Islam and those who do so are condemned with hellfire.

Just look at Islam's history, and the Koran itself. Child molestation is condoned. Slavery is condoned. Conversion by the sword/by war is condoned. The slaughtering of those with different beliefs (Jews, Christians, and yes, pagans) is condoned and is in fact commanded. If a woman gets raped, according to the Koran, it's not the MAN's fault. It's HER fault for enticing him.

I really wish people would take a more objective look. How anyone can call a liar, a thief, an incestuous rapist, a child molester (Muhammad's youngest wife was six, but he "graciously" held off having sex with her until she was... nine.), a genocidal maniac (again, the slaughtering of Jews) a "prophet from God."

Muhammad was no prophet. He twisted religion for his own ends.

Kerry,
Fifteen hundred years is not enough time for change?

Gengi,
The whole Koran is filled with commandments to enslave infidels, to kill infidels, to make war with infidels, to heavily tax infidels. People like to call muslim terrorists extremists, but the fact is that they memorize large parts or even the whole Koran and a number of hadiths. The "moderates" are sadly ignorant that their book is filled with this crap.

Even if what you say is true and there is a very "loving" religion in the book itself, this certainly does not jive with 1,500+ years of Islamic history, starting with Muhammad himself.

I defy you to find even one New Testament (Bible) passage which condones the kinds of acts that permeate the pages of that awful book called the Koran. Cite it in context.

Gengi:

On the point regarding the Crusades/Inquisitions-
Although those things were done in the name of Christianity, they run contrary to the principles of the New Testament, the principles by which most Christians live their lives. This was a form of Pseudo (fake) Christianity. Moreover, they have been roundly condemned by the Church as a whole.

On the other hand, the Muslim acts of terror are not only condoned but commanded in the Koran itself. Peaceful Islam, in stark contrast to Christianity is Pseudo-Islam. The "extremist" element, the element which seeks to live under Sharia law is the REAL face of Islam.

On your Biblical passage,
You cited a passage from the OLD Testament, a command given specifically to the Jews under the military leadership of Joshua in how they were to go about claiming the land God had granted to them. Sir, I am neither a Jew, nor am I living in the time of Joshua and seeking to take the land rightfully given to me.

I say again: Cite a passage in the NEW TESTAMENT (the Old testament, though as inspired as the new, is History, a looking forward to the Messiah) which condones violent acts.

These examples can be found all through the pages of the Koran, and there is no any indication that they were given to a specific people at a specific time. No... Quite the contrary, they are in effect today. My original statements stand unspoiled.

A note on Egypt:
Yes. God smote all the firstborn of the unrepentant Egyptians, which was the straw that finally broke the camel's back, forcing Pharaoh to allow the people to leave.

Look back further however. Was it not Pharaoh who ordered all the male children of the Hebrews under a certain age to be slaughtered? If God is the ultimate judge, is it not His to administer judgement?

Gengi,
Now you're REALLY stretching with that reference. Paul is speaking of the behavior of those who did not believe in the Lord God. He is by no means commanding or condoning that kind of behavior. In fact, if you actually read the entire passage, that behavior is CONDEMNED.

I think my point is pretty well proved.

Kerry: I respectfully disagree with your statement.
In the current century, Christians don't practice barbaric things and they got past it and the Muslims could've done the same thing. There's absolutely no reason for it. There are enough ordinary people who have come away thru generations of these kinds of acts. I am quite surprised that the Saudi government don't do something about it.

while I dont agree with some of the Muslim laws I dont
think they should have to justify them any more than
christians should have to justify thiers, take a look back
through history and I think that you will find that we also
had some very barbaric customs, maybe in time the
radical Muslims will change, remember , not all people
of the Muslim faith practice these things

it is just a poor country where religion and extreme interpretations of it can gain a power full supporter base. it is horrible how some people can warp religion to justify beliefs or actions but Christianity has moved past this in most countries so we can only hope that these countries can change.

Fires tor...
so do you think its only Islam that has some violent passages? have a look at ,most religions and you will find something which you could use to justify your beliefs in the same way as when you look upon the Koran you see violence but when i look upon it i see a loving religion.

so how are Muslims are cirtasised for spreading violence in the past and yet Christan have launched crusades and Inquisitions into those that don't agree with them.

do you forget about how god killed baby's in the Exodus?

or what about
(Deuteronomy 20:10-14)
As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.

another from the new testament.
So God let them go ahead and do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other's bodies. Instead of believing what they knew was the truth about God, they deliberately chose to believe lies. So they worshiped the things God made but not the Creator himself, who is to be praised forever. Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relationships with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men and, as a result, suffered within themselves the penalty they so richly deserved. When they refused to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their evil minds and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, fighting, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They are forever inventing new ways of sinning and are disobedient to their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, and are heartless and unforgiving. They are fully aware of God's death penalty for those who do these things, yet they go right ahead and do them anyway. And, worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. (Romans 1:24-32 NLT)

that's how they treat their women. i understand your anger and quite frankly, i share them. hopefully the UN or other world organizations would pressure the Saudi government into changing such laws so that such injustice can end. we're in 21st century for goodness sake.

and you don't need to be a christian to feel indignated by this. you just need to be human.

Don't worry, soon the whole world will be like that. The terrorist will ether force the rest to convert, or kill all those that don't.
