what should he/she possess?

I think this is an interesting question.

For me a person would posses (and not necessarily all at once - that might be asking too much :):

--Patience (e.g., someone who remains relaxed and doesn't get huffy when waiting in line for a slow person in front of them)

--Tolerance of others' views and flaws

--Non-"judgmentalness": an understanding that everyone comes from different background and experiences and that these shape and influence them today

--Graciousness: someone who has the capacity to forgive and accept apology when it is sincerely offered

--Thoughtfulness and consideration for others' feelings, time, and health and other needs

--Humility: Someone who accepts praise sincerely and simply, and can also accept criticism and endeavors to learn from that criticism

--A non-"gossipy" nature: A person who says anything negative about someone else behind their back, to me, is definitely NOT classy

--Kindness and sincerity: A person who is genuine in their actions, and makes an effort to accomodate a wide variety of people, and tries to make others happy

Finally, I'd say that I think very few people can be ALL this at once, all the time. I think, though, that a person who *tries* to be "classy" by making an effort to hone these characteristics is classy. I maintain that it's our intentions that matter/

Classy is when a woman or man dresses confidently, neatly, and feels comfortable and at home in what they're wearing, but still looks good and colorful, and proper for the occasion. Also, Classy people have a good outlook on life, happy, and always have a smile on their face! Trahy is when a person doesnt care what they are wearing, has a bad attitude. When a girl dresses immodestly, it becomes hard to look classy. When you are being interviewed for a job, the way you dress affects your chances or getting the job! Hope this helps! Dancing Star

I think that "class" comes from the heart. It has nothing to do with having or not having money, and only a little to do with education--someone with class respects themself and others, has consideration for others, is kind, helpful, thinks of the other person and their feelings first.
Some of the "lowest class" people I have run across have been those who have the most money and education--they have been very self-centered and snobby, thought the world owed them first dibs on everything.

a classy person to me is in the way someone relates without being rude or judgemental and can interact with several types of people but still have their own value system.....

being rude isn't classy
nor being loud and obnoxious
or making fun of people....

basically it is letting your inner wisdom shine without being overbearing and being warm and interactive with people....

class is not arrogance

and it is not shoes, or clothing...it is a positive attitude and well mannered behavior....

all of the above wonderful answers plus:

Confidence.

I can run errands on a day where I've been working in the house, am not dressed up...but if I meet and greet people confidently it surpasses surface "issues"
