Yes. She did not want me to marry anybody that had already been married or had children. I didn't listen, but I should have because Mother does know best.

My Mom never really warned me about a type of man I guess she figured I was smart enough to know a good man from a bad one.

If she'd had her way I'd have never got married at all! She was the type of woman that never saw any good in me and thought I should have spent my life as a spinster!
Have been married, happily to Tc for 19 years.

I was in "love" with one of my cousins and I can remember my mother saying that you can't marry your cousins because you won't be able to have children! That was the only warning she gave me about who not to marry.

There were so many, starting with my husband! - No Catholics, or non-Christians, no one older than I am ... She didn't seem to have a "bad boy" definition as much as a category that was "Us." Anyone who was not "Us" was trouble. I never did quite figure out what her rules were, so I completely ignored them and went with my heart. We've been married for 31 years and she loves him, too.

My mom never warned me about men. I guess since she
more than approved my first boyfriend, who she expected
to marry me one day, she didn't feel she had to say anything.
But my next boyfriend, she had more than enough things to
say LOL. Because the two of them clashed.LOL

I don't remember her telling me not to marry a certain type of guy. I do remember certain boyfriends of mine that she liked or disliked. She liked my husband when I married him and they still get along very well.

She wasn't too crazy about the man I married. Thought he wasn't handsome (like another one of my boyfriends) and was too quiet. She grew to love her son-in-law and admired him for his goodness and strength. I think she decided he was handsome after all but mom always complained that my husband was too quiet.
I have a sweet memory of my parents 50th wedding anniversary party. Dad was unwilling to dance with Mom so my husband gallantly danced with her to a slow country song. She was smiling from ear to ear.
