It all depends on personal preference.

Pro: by not being between two houses, you can get more sunlight and natural breezes. (Note: in the days before air conditioning, corner lots in cities got huge premiums because of the breeze aspect, when air flow through an open window was the only form of cooling.)

Con: you have a street along side the house, so your privacy in the back yard is limited.

I'm more worried about the park across the street. What kind of a park is it? Is it a hangout for weird people all night? Is there early morning soccer practice on weekends? Are there late night sporting events? What will the park be used for in the future. I have some friends who bought a house by a quite little park, and then the park district put in a baseball field and stadium intensity lighting towers.

I don't like corners because there is more street noise and the house is exposed to it on two sides. Also, I have dogs and more people will walk by, creating more barking.

The park is not a good thing. The negatives are people parking in front of your house. Liter from adults and children using the park. But, the worst is teenagers with nothing to do watching your house and knowing when you are not home. Homes are broken into more frequently near parks and high schools then away from them.

The house looks pretty cute on the outside, but I would not even view it knowing that it was on a corner, across the street from a park.

It looks like it already has a contract on it.

I don't think anyone can determine if it is a good location unless they are there. Are the local schools good, is it convenient to employment and transportation, is the street busy and noisy, are the values similar with the other houses? I would have to be there to tell.

In General, Corner lots are more desireable than non-corner lots.

But it will depend on other factors as well on the house..

Well, it affects your local taxes. The more 'frontage' property you have, the higher the taxes because they go by the foot of property thats actually on the curb or just in front. They gitcha.

I have a corner lot home. It makes it seem your lot is bigger and if you have friends over, there is more parking on the road.

They are considered unlucky----because they are at a crossroads, and years ago suicides and criminals were buried at crossroads (so their ghosts couldn't find their way home, and they would "haunt" the crossroad)---some people are superstitious about corner houses for this reason.
