++ If you refer to white as the purity of water and black as the impurity as water... and when you mix a pure water with the water with impurities you lose the purity... then can you say that evil is more dominant than good?

depends on what you color you want associated with anything. you could had 'red' for good and 'green' for evil. that depends on you.

well in the case of the water, the water will lose its purity. however just because it applies to water does not mean you have to use logic and equate it with everything else. this is a common misconception when we try to reason by stating one instance and drawing a conclusion from this.

Evil more dominant than good? it is true that evil is somehow more advertised so to speak. however it is in our tradition to ridicule and bring out the evil from ourselves and our neighbors. so if we change our custom to something that will bring out the good in every one of us then you will say that GOOD is more dominant than evil.

it is all a matter of conceptions. you need to expand your thoughts to something not restricted to the sciences and customs.

You must be a pessimistic type because as it can be said that the purity of the good water is lost it could also be said that the concentration of the evil water has been thinned its a stale mate what if you were to simply reverse them the tainted water is now good and the pure water is now evil you cannot apply the property's of good and evil to inanimate objects because what has this impure water done that makes it evil? It simply exists as it is.

As to why i think these colors are associated with good and evil is because humans have a natural fear of the dark. It has been bread into us since before there even were humans. We are a diurnal species and as such it seems logical to me perhaps if we were nocturnal the colors would be reversed.

The philosophy of good and evil seem absurd too me. I'm sure no one could provide a source that is pure good or pure evil in the end its all just different shades of gray. .

Yellow is safety such school buses, rain jackets, caution signs, and yeild signs. Also it is always neccessary to have a yellow painted curb by fire extinguishers. Orange is all about caution. Hunters use bright orange for hunting...Construction workers use it so motorist san see then from a safe distance and even some prisons use orange to identify prisoners. Brown is primarily used as a color to describe something dull or unclean. Mud, Dirty, Human waiste, Dry vegitation. Dont see too many brown trucks huh :-)

the thinking was in the middle ages or medieval that white represented purity, "such as pure as the driven snow" and as such virginal women before taking their marriage vows wore white, to show their hymen was intake. Black was identified with the blackness of night meaning nightfall. People feared the night. People were more superstitious then and only had faith in what they could see.

Dark not only symbolizes evil, but it can represent other things such as depth. And white not only symbolizes light and good, but could represent emptiness too. I think there is no one simple way of seeing things, so I wouldn't say that impure water represents evil.

i guess it is only an association some bad people wore white, kkk, for example. that doesn't mean white in their case was righteous, tho that is what they wanted to appear to be to others.

Jesus rides a white horse (righteous warfare) he wears white when going into battle, the black horse represented famine, I guess when people die of starvation they have lost their lustor in their skin, and their nails and lips etc turn dark blue or black and they get black circles under their eyes etc.

darkness meant many things in teh bible (and remember this nation was founded on people knowledgable about the bible and this was passed along no doubt affecting how colors and images etc would be interpreted) I am guessing to that if under a different culture such a primitive or whatever colors might take on another meaning. darkness meant lack of spiritual vision, loss of favor from God, evil or punishment from God etc.

when someone sinned and God wanted to forgive him he would make statements such as making their scarlet coverings white as snow, so actually scarlet in the bible is associated with sinfulness (in fact in the dictionary scarlet is defined as sinful) black is not as strongly assoicated with sinfulness but used many times as referring to bad human expereinces such as famines and war.

as for someone clean touching someone or something unclean and not making the unclean thing clean but making the clean thing unclean it just goes to prove a little leven does ferment the whole lump. it seems the evil is dominate, for now, even the bible says sin has ruled as king until now.

but that is why the bible was written why God went to all that trouble to establish the israel nation as he promised abraham and all the problems he had to deal with in guiding and protecting and discipling them, and having all the prophecies written about jesus and the trouble he went to in getting that ransom paid.

all so sin can be over come once and for all time, after all sin means falling short of Gods righteous standards and being born in sin we can never on our own attain to the perfection that he requires for everlasting life in a paradise earth, by allowing a certain amount of time to elapse before bringing this world to an end (world system of things not life or the planet) was to show us and the angels the bad consequences of sin and shows why he hates sin so much. he doesn't hate us, just the sin. but he has to protect those who are willing to make adjustments and develope godly qualities of love patience longsuffering kindness etc, from those who flatly refuse to learn those qualities (hence that free will we all have).

it is true that genetics shows when there is one defect in the genetic code the creature will have something wrong maybe not noticable right away but over successive generations the defects become more numerous, that is sin only gets worse never better, look at the problems with dogs and hip dsplysia. I mean it has become a common problem due to poor breeding or not knowing an animal carries a defect in that area and it passing along and becoming more entrenched in the genetic code.

what helps me appreciate what sin is and why it is so bad is thinking in terms of breeding. if I have horses with defects that makes the animal less able to survive or be usable to me or anyone else. like blindness that is so prevenlant in some appaloosas, if I breed a blind horse that is only perpetuating the problem and causing mroe suffering for horses and owners alike, after all what animal wants to be blind? this helps me appreciate what sin is all about. that defect in our genetic code, makes it harder to do right over wrong, or makes us inclined to choose the wrong behavior sometimes even if we are not sure of the outcome until after it happens, sin in us leads to depression (not because of deliberatly doing some wrong but simply because our bodies and minds don't work the way they are supposed to and we are under circumstances we are not designed to live under.

ever see a squirrel dash across teh street to be missed by a car only to dash right back under the car and die? well they were not designed to deal with vehicles so they are confused and don't do the smart thing, staying on the otehr side once there.

In some cultures, particularly in Africa, it's reversed. Their devils are usually white. (Hmm....) And in parts of Asia, it is traditional to wear white at funerals rather than black.

It's all cultural!

white/black is a cultural thing; it is not the same in all cultures.
Your analogy is correct; that is why there is more evil, because the good is becoming corrupt.
