"No you could still grow. Just because you start your period doesn't mean you are necessarily done growing. I think you have up until age 20 to grow.. Something of that sort.

And no, losing weight will not affect your height."

^^My girlfriend's words for you ^.^

You mite not want to hear this. You're a preteen which means there's still a lot of growing to do. Your height is purely genetics. By the time you graduate from high school you'll have reached your ultimate height. If both parents were short you'd be short, if both were normal you'd be normal but a short and a normal uh oh that could be a short, a normal or anything in between. Ask yourself what's the worst scenario if you turn out to be normal? If you turn out to be short? Could you deal with it? Prepare yourself mentally for both.
One last thing. Height doesnt matter it's the size of the heart and the size of the mind that counts. Find something else to worry about.

Losing weight has nothing to do with height. And as you are only 13 you are not done growing but noone can say how tall you will be. When you have your periods also is not an indicator of anything to do with growing.

Often, girls keep growing for about 2 years after their periods become regular. To see how much growth you can expect, your doctor can order a wrist x-ray for bone age. Some studies show 50 to 100 mg daily of Zinc can stimulate further growth. Ask your doctor.

Wellhave u had your growth spurt yet. Usually after 3 years after your growth spurt, you stop griowing. 13 year olds are usually taller than the boys. No losing weight won't help, it all depends on how tall your mom and dad are.

Losing wait doesnt help, and I'm short too... but my mom said I will grow to be tall, if your tall when your young, dates and being tall when your older are most likely out of the question. if your short, dates and advantages are ther and you will be taller when you get older

If you are 13 you have plenty of time to still grow. Just take up things like ballet, yoga, martial arts, swimming...basically any sport which stretches the muscles.
