Hey there!

Relax!!! Ok... so first and foremost let me say that I'm a student at UCSC, and it's a totally awesome school that you should definitely apply too. I would say the key to getting into UCSC is an awesome essay or should I say essays. In your essays you should talk about struggles you had to over come to get where you are today, and how that made you a better person. You should also talk about the contributions you feel you've made to society already, the contributions you will make to UCSC, and the contributions you WILL make once you've received a UCSC degree.

If for some strange reason you do not get into UCSC you can still move to Santa Cruz, ad go to cabrillo (local community college)... the best part is you get to take some of your classes at UCSC! Also if you go to any california community college you can do a transfer agreement plan where UCSC says you are garaunteed admission as long as you take certain classes and maintain a certain gpa. For more info you can visit UCtransfer.org

Good Luck, hope to see you amongst the trees :-)

You would probably have to go to community college for two years to get accepted, since anything less than that and they would evaluate you based upon your high school record and SAT scores. You can certainly go to a community college in Pennsylvania, but make sure that you take courses which would transfer to UCSC, or you will end up taking more than four years overall to graduate.

you really want to come to cali for CC if your plans are UCSC. your gpa is mediocre at best and if you are not coming from cali, you are going to have a hard time.
