CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The city that's home to Harvard and MIT solidified its nickname as "The People's Republic of Cambridge" when it put a stop to a Boy Scout troop's Election Day drive to collect care packages for American soldiers in Iraq, claiming it was "political."
“We just wanted to make a lot of troops happy,” Scout Patrick O’Connor told the Boston Herald.
The big-hearted Scouts from Cambridge Troop 45 had placed donation boxes at the city's 33 polling stations in hopes of collecting toiletries, magazines, candy and other items after one of O'Connor's relatives was injured in an IED explosion while serving in Iraq.
But someone complained to the city, allegedly claiming the boxes were a “political statement,” and the boxes were removed.

“I was devastated that someone would think to take (the donation boxes) out,” O'Connor told the newspaper.
“This was not about supporting the war or any politician or political view," troop committee chairman Jamisean Patterson told the Herald. "This was supporting the brave men and women who are stationed overseas.”
Patterson said the Scouts obtained a verbal OK from the city election commission and polling station officials.
Cambridge Vice Mayor Timothy J. Toomey Jr. told the Herald that a breakdown in communication, rather than malice, led to the boxes being removed.
“Boy Scouts Troop 45’s efforts to support our troops are a benefit for the entire community, and the council will be working with them to ensure that their goals are fully realized,” he said in a written statement.

I don't see any mention of liberals in your story.
Why do you hate liberals so much you'd smear them without any facts?

Your story aside, which by the way gives credit to the complaint to no one in particular, Liberals do not hate the troops.
Disagreeing with the current administrations foreign policy sais nothing about your perspective on the military. The concept of the left hating the troops is simply a "tallking point" coming from the administration that the right somehow believe.

Because the troops and Boy Scouts are clean-cut, straight, uniformed and keep to a code of moral conduct. All things liberalism stand opposed to.
Scout Oath
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country
and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong,
mentally awake, and morally straight.

The main problem with this 'question' is.....it never happened! There was a short glitch that was taken care of..end of story. Unlike this stupid occupation of Iraq, a BIG glitch that DID happen and is still happening. Holy Goebbels, propaganda is supposed to at least be convincing. Everytime one of these bozos, or it may be the same bozo, starts out with this 'why do the liberals' you know you have a cut and paste nonsense story comin' at 'ya. Maybe the people that put out this @#$% are part of the FOX network minor league, just waiting to be called up to the 'majors'!
PS......The term 'liberal' or 'lib' is a propaganda construct of the semi-nazi right. It's a strawman. It means anyone not them! Pass it on!

The larger issue is that a complaint from a single person could incite sweeping action by the people's republic of Cambridge.
I think we can rest assured that even if there were one HUNDRED people complaining about the introduction of a book in the elementary school curriculum titled "Johnny has two daddies", there would be no action at all anywhere in Massachusetts.

I am quite familar with the natives here, and Cabrige is exceeding liberal, and there is something deeper behind their actions, which would not be the same if the Boy Scouts were supporting homsexual rights. The liberal's war protests are not simply protesting against unjust wars, but protesting the reality behind them, as the typical liberal mind of which you refer is in rebellion against God, and refuses to accept that man is a fallen creature, sinful by nature, and thus it is necesary for government to sometimes fight to preseve just freedom.
And as the fall of man requires we be clothed, and true moral evil be punished, then the liberal utimately resists these ideas as well, as they seek to live in preverse world.
It is a world in which unmarried sexual freedom and revealing clothes is pushed as a right, and where people seem to see those who are punished for legitimate crimes as victims, where imprisoned felons should vote, and Mr. Arafat the terrorist is seen as a hero. A world where civil rights and moral wrongs are confused (homosexuality), and are to be foisted upon every man, women and child as wholesome, normal and even necessary, to our own collective hurt.
It is a world in which all who oppose them are labeled intolerant, hateful (and “homophobic”) bigots, yet it is the liberal world which most often hypocritically censures those who dare disagree with them, and long for hate crime laws to silence them.
In short it is a world in which much evil is called good, and good evil (Isaiah 5:20).
And finally, they reject the Christ who died and rose for us because we are fallen, that those who repent and believe on Him may gain the real alternate world, Heaven, and escape their just punishment in Hell, the reality of which the liberal mind refuses to accept.

The Boy Scouts have their right to free speech, which means they can do exactly what they've done here, and libs can protest all they want, but they can't stop it.
The Boy Scouts got into hot water a few years ago for not allowing gays to be members or leaders or something-or-other, and it was determined that since they're a private and not a public entity, they could deny membership to anyone they wanted.
EDIT: That's right. Thumb me down for being factual. It only proves your ignorance.

When people choose to become a liberal they give up the ability to use common sense, rational thought and in doing so become stinking piles of excrement.

Why does the president hate the troops? He crows about "supporting the troops" when anyone dares quesiton his illegal war, yet at the same time he is decreasing their benefits. He hires mercenaries to fight our wars, which has a devastating affect on troop morale. He couldn't be bothered to serve his country in our last conflict. No. Liberals love our soldiers. We want them home. It is the president who is using them like toilet paper we hate. You need a mirror, dude.

That was obviously a problem of the thing not being well organized from the start, rather than partisan bickering like you are trying to start.
