greed, pride, being self centered. Divide and conquer. they pit people against each other. Both are power hungry and represent the corporations. As far as protection of Americans they are worried about losing out on lobby money. Reps and senators from both sides have family members who draw big checks working for them and who are working for lobbyist. I feel in the second case the person should be barred from voting on any bill that has to do with anything a family member is connected with.
There's not really a big difference between them now as the repubs used to be financially responsible, but Pres. Bush is throwing money around like the demos. Then you have the moral thing that tears at the country. Then the demos phase out military, repubs build.
But both parties have neglected the Veterans Administration and our veterans. I know it started for us 15 years ago and then you have seen what they are doing now. It's a disgrace.
As far as securing the country whether with a fence, cutting down on visa jumpers, etc. not going to do it because they fear losing votes and thus power and the money. As usual Americans will bear the crime and suffer and give up things. Demos are for it and some repubs against , but not all.
Something I found interesting. During the Clinton years legal immigration was bumped up to 2.5 million a year or about another 20+ mllion become legal residents.
Enter Bush and he cut legal immigration to 1.25 million and as of last week they (media) stated it was now 1 million. With this in mind one tenth of the population was increased with new Americans (30,000,000). I feel that with the new folks and the visa jumpers (3 million per year*), people started freaking out and thus now you have a country divided on incorporating the illegal folks.
But here's the deal the criminal elements that come here blend into the particluar races they are like, thus you have mant different races that have to bear the brunt of additional crime. That's why as I look at the polls from around the country that run 70-30 against it tells me that the vast majority of Americans regardless of race are against it and secondly think it is a good idea to secure the borders and stop the flow of the illegal drugs that are destroying the country.
If nothing else, Pres. Bush and congress should have the sense to put parts of fences up in the most dangerous areas of drug activity and also where the deserts are as people are perishing in those areas, but no. Add to the fact of the 1 in 7 at the southen border and I'm not sure abou tthe northern border are from the terror countrys.
Many think it is politically correct, but I don't. Americans have been hood winked for to long. I have friends of all races and whether their kin walked into America years ago, were here in the beginning, boated in or flew in, I get the same answer. We are legal and if it took one of us five yers to become an American we are Americans and assimilated.
If we can figure this out then why can't they? the dollar, which is being replaced by the fictious euro, something is going on. I assume, why build a fence when we are gong to build a super highway so products go be taken to our Canadian borthers and sisters up north. So in answer to your question yes bouth parties ride a high horse and both wear a black hat (bad guys in westerns used to only wear black hats and when the cowboys got in a fight their hats stayed on). Take care. too bad a third party cannot or a candidate rise up that has big money behind it, but then again that would mean they too would be beholding.
Blah, BLAH! Take care.

I sort of agree wit that, I mean, many of us u.s. citizens voted 4 stupid Bush on the last presidential election which was an ignorant thing 2 do. Some of us were too in denial 2 think Bush was in the Middle-East 4 oil and 2 invade Iran's already corrupting government and economy!
All that caused dispute between Democratic and Republican gov. parties. Of course, the Republic is just trying 2 hold a good reputation 4 Bush(who was also in denial of his invasive war-doing)but really it's too late 4 that.
When both parties r corrupt our country goes down economically, politically, everything in general. Sorry, but that's what's going 2 happen 2 us.

Hello, asker
Sorry I cannot answer your ‚question’ concerning ‚politicians’ because you don’t say from which party or government or parliament or country they are.
In the internet forums numerous people ask and ask and ask questions about ‚politicians’ like yours.
So I guess you are a part of a group that has something against parlamentarian democracy, will say against democracy.
Many people today seem to have a poor opinion of democracy: Not only do people often disagree with political decisions, and the members of parliament are seen as unscrupulous, willing to do anything to gain power, or abusive of their position and privileges.
Do you try to influence us with this poison, too?
Kind regards,
Rolf

To a very small percent. I do believe that the American people could be a bit more ambitious in regards to the political state of affairs in this country. Nevertheless, it is hard to control a government that has been slightly converted to a totalitarian regime , and i am graciously giving them a lot of latitude by the word "slightly", in adressing this issue. Its very difficult to have any say in a system that votes itself into power, as in the last 2 presidential elections. Especially when the latter one used electronics as a means of voting, for the mere fact that a computer network is much more likely to have been manipulated. Ever look under your xp seetings under administrative settings and EVER see how many ports entries there are under "remote" alone? No, then you probley are a regular viewer of msnbc or fox, who just by sheer coincidence are under bushs brothers absolute control, I dont think ol Jeb and brothers are going to mudsling there brother in the near future, skulls n bones! baby1. Now, the MoUsE has extended his reach a lot by refreshing sum of the brainwashed patriots of this country, and this will have to suffice , at least for today, to inform this great country of ours "awaiting evils" that we pray wont keep going in the same directions as it has progressed since the N.W.O, im sorry, the new administration, Thank-You, The MouSe

actualy i blame technology, yea it is our fault entirely but i believe the reason why so many people arent fighting to change our own government is because they have so much "cool stuff" at home to play with, occupy their time, and distract them from any unpleasentness that they dont want to pay attention to anyway. like an escape from reality into their own world of technology. computers, videogames, television, mp3 players, virtual worlds, cell phones...etc it all keeps us pretty occupied. put it this way would you rather clean the house(no pun intented...ok maybe a little bit), or would you rather play on the computer......most people would chose the second one putting off the cleaning untill they absolutly HAVE to, its human nature, american or not.

Thomas Jefferson said that in a democracy, the people get what they deserve. We show consent at the polls. We had an opportunity to dump this president and we re-elected him. Yes, it is our fault. Just like our so-called "leaders" we too, are guilty of the "blame-game". The neo-cons accuse the liberals of everything they themselves do and the liberals blame the neo-cons for everything the ne-cons do. The problem, it seems, is neo-cons.

Of course American people are the reason for politicians as criminal Bush and criminal Cheney to get away with mass murders. Majority of Americans are simply ignorant, stupid and lazy. They are being professionally brainwashed from right and left.

Did you know that the orginal intent of the american constitution was to create a gov't that was not fully responsible for all decision making. That's why we have 3 branches of gov't. Checks and Balances. and did you know the signers of the constitutions, original intent was for the american people to rise against thier own gov't when seen as their gov't being unfit.
it is a u. s. citizens duty to rise against the gov't

United we stand, Divided we fall.
Obviously, many people do not understand this simple little phrase.
Fascism will reign under a guise of moral authority.
