Then we have to drill in Anwar and off shore plus build some more refineries.

We don't have a good alternative yet.

Screw it, let the gas prices rise. It is the only way serious investigation in better sources of heat, energy, and locomotion will ever occur.

Yes I do want cheaper gas prices but unfortunatly that isn't going to happen for a while. Even if we do drill in Anwar it wont do much. Iran is a huge oil supplier and they continue to cut the amount of oil sent to the U.S. and they are raising their prices I mean oil one week ago was at 90$ a barrel. Now this most definatly will force us to find an alternative fuel source. Still that may not be for a while wich is why we must build a new refinery, but we can't thanks to the tree huggers. Because they let their emotions get the best of them we cant build anthing that they think may harm the enviroment this is crossing the line it makes our country look socialist.

een making quite a killing for a while. The ride will wnd when rumors of war and actual wars ease up. Then the price will drop precipitouslyThe price of gas has very little to do with the actual supply or refining capacity. There is plenty of oil and quite enough refineries to make gas. It is a commodity, traded on the commodities market that has been making a lot of money for some of late. It is profit driven, not supply and demand

I have read all of these answers. There are some pretty good ones, but they are all with "dealing" with the problem. I think we could SOLVE the problem by doing as you suggest and drill for oil in Alaska and off-shore. There are also many inactive oil wells in this country. If we would use all of our resources, we would have cheaper oil for many years to come. In the meantime, new alternatives could be developed.

yes i want the government to crack down on the price gouching and seriously research alternative energy which it won't with an oilgarch in the white house. Its also scary when people on the far left don't mind our suffering cause they want us all riding bikes everywhere :((

Its an unholy alliance between extreme greed on the far right and madness on the far left
that keeps us in this mess

You are Majorly uniformed. 2 things that have to do with rising "gas" prices. 1) The American Dollar is massively inflated. 2) A new refinery has not been built in the last 30 some odd years. (Thanks environmentalists)

No, I do not want cheaper gas.

I like the trends I'm seeing that respond to higher gas prices. More people are biking, walking, buying scooters/mo-peds, and definitely buying smaller, more modest vehicles overall. This is good for our health, good for our image, and good for the environment.

I want alternatives to gas, 100 year old technology that hasn't advanced even after the creation of the microchip.

High prices will force us to find alternatives. It's like arm-twisting to get us to do something we should've done a long time ago!

Yes I do.. I've been taking the bus / Bart because of this ridiculousness, although it's better for the environment because more people are doing the same.
