I'm pretty much materialistic, but I know that everything that is good comes from God so as long as we keep things in perspective and know who to thank, we can appreciate the gifts that much more...but I get what you're saying. That perspective isn't kept by everyone. (I love GIVING, and not JUST material things...advice, compliments, etc.)

I used to love Christmas, but it is getting harder and harder every year. When they start shoving it down our throats before Halloween, I have a problem with that. It's like the merchants think we are going to forget, so they have to remind us every single year a little earlier, and earlier. Next think you know the Christmas stuff will be in the same aisle as the back to school stuff, lol.

I really feel with all of the political correct crap, they have basically ruined Christmas. In Sydney Australia the Santa's can't even say HO HO HO, anymore, they have to say HA HA HA, They are afraid the ho ho ho, may offend the hookers, or something stupid like that. GIVE ME A BREAK! ARRRRGGGGGHHHHH. They just can't leave anything alone anymore. It kills me.

I thought Christmas was supposed to be a religious holiday, what ever happened to that????? Not a holiday to see who can get the biggest haul of presents, and then go back to work and school and brag about them. Or who can outdo the neighbor for the best decorations.

Christmas is supposed to be about love, and joy, and family, and friends, and the birth of the baby Jesus. I want that back please.

I accept as true with you, yet Christmas has develop right into a commercial holiday. we actually do not know while Christ became born, so we picked the twenty 5th of December. a number of of Christmas traditions fairly began from different cultures and merely have been given mixed at the same time, or a minimum of that's what the background channel claims.

It does. I have to say though, it has gotten worse the past few years. Thanksgiving does not seem to exist anymore, because the two top grossing holidays are Halloween and Christmas. The marketing gurus push those on one so hard that you can barely breathe from September to January.

Absolutely. Especially because I don't have the money to get my babies everything I would like to get them. My five year old daughter is starting to understand already is more about watching Christmas movies and spending quality time with family, and having a few new toys and outfits.
