It's perfectly normal. I don't think it's too early, really I think this a type of preference, I know some people are just a bunch of scrooges are too god damn lazy to even put a light or two up, so they might do it later. But hey if you want to put your decorations up now, go for it.
My mother and I (dad doesn't help, at all) we always put our decorations up in mid November, though we haven't gotten to it since my mother has been working like crazy, as always. We will probably do it sometime today. I think it's never too early to decorate. Me and my mommy like to put up decorations and stuff up early because we like to actually enjoy the lights, and the decorations, and the feeling of Christmas coming, instead of putting the tree up late, and taking it down the day after Christmas, if that would happen I would be too sad cause I would've felt like it was never even Christmas.
So if you guys want to put up your decorations, some poeple here are already starting, and trust me around my block we decorate like crazy. So I hope you guys have fun decorating.
Happy Holidays,
blondie.

Traditionally people begin the Christmas decor the day after Thanksgiving, but I feel if you a large outdoor display you would want to display it as much of the Holiday season as possible so putting it out now would not be silly. Another reason it would make this a good time is the weather. We've already had our fist snow fall. I've also noticed Christmas items have been on sale in the stores in my area since Halloween! I think that's earliest I've ever seen Christmas items on sale.

Yes, sorry it is.
Stores start selling merchandise in August.
Halloween is over
Stores don't really have anything for Thanksgiving
Christmas is so big that you need a long time to hang everything up.
If your parents are decorating outside the weather is a good motivator to doing it early!
If your parents have busy lives it's easier to do now than while they are trying to score you the presents you want!
I personally draw the line with Christmas music gets played after Thanksgiving. Played too early then your sick of it by Christmas!

There's realy no right or wrong with this situation. But my OPINION is that Christmas is way too rushed this year. I mean, right after Halloween, Christmas stuff was all up in the stores, at the mall, I was like are you serious? We usually wait until the day after Thanksgiving to start putting up the tree, hanging wreaths and so on...Christmas is a lovely holiday and shouldn't be rushed!

And then your burned out already by Christmas.
Tell em you want to open your presents the day after Thanksgiving, then they might get the hint.
Merry Christmas! Oh, and Happy New Year too!

sure. Halloween afternoon I swooped right into a drug keep for candy and that they are have been already clearing the racks for yuletide trappings. What ever took place to an incredible, long November wherein we arranged ourselves for the Thanksgiving trip and contemplated on each and every thing for which we've been grateful? this could be the 12 months our better half and little ones resurrects a convention of adopting a kinfolk in prefer.

Many cities decorate just before thanksgiving day so the town will be all christmasy for the huge christmas shopping day, the day after thanksgiving. But in my opinion it is too early. It should be after the first of Decenber.

We have ours up. But, since we live in Northern Indiana, we have had some mild weather. So, we took advantage of it and got everthing up before the snow starts flying. But, we dont light them up yet. They are just ready to go starting on the day after Thanksgiving.
