"For every one million diamonds that are mined, only one will be found that is a quality one caret diamond." So diamomnds are rare.

Diamonds "crystallize at very high pressures." Technically, diamonds are pretty much like fossils because they both need pressure to be formed. Therefore, it takes a while for both to be formed so there can't be an unlimited supply unless you count the ones who aren't even one caret.

Hi. As long as we can make them there is an unlimited supply. The larger the diamond the rarer it is.

Diamonds are worht the price that we give them. If no one wanted them, they would be worth the same as a peice of shale.

diamonds are rare coz they are formed only at areas where layers of carbon are subjugated to extreme pressure for hundreds of years... and such conditions weren't prevelent everywhere... its similar to claiming that petroleum supply is limited... got it?

Even if they're not rare, people will STILL pay an ungodly high price for them because they're shiny.
