I know of two really good typing programs; in the lower grades i used a typing program called Mavis Beakon (great for kids 1st-3rd grade). The other one i used is Typing Quick and Easy (this is better for older kids). After using those programs i have become a pretty fast typer.

Any good typing coarse should work. They start around $10 and go up from there. They will teach the basic keyboard. Because the F or Function keys can be program specific, you may want to go to the web for instructions. Just type "hot keys" or 'f keys" into Google.

I used to have a SpongeBob Square Pants program that would teach QWERTY keyboarding. I can't remember where I got it though.
