Personally, I think it is. When I was a kid, neither stores nor people put them up until about the second or third week of December. It was always understood that Thanksgiving would be respected, and then we would move on to Christmas.

Besides how it got its origin, this is the other problem I have with Christmas. Come November, people get excited about it, and can't wait to get up the decorations and do all the other traditions. Yet, come December 26, when the gifts have been opened, and the guests have gone home, people soon get bored with it, and can't wait to get the stuff taken down, and put away in the attic for another year. The significance has not only become more commercialized, but also carries more of a "seasonal fad" then a true deeper meaning. In Luke 2:8-18, the shepherds heard the news from the angels, went to see the Christ child they spoke of, and came away rejoicing. They didn't have any "After Christmas Depression" and they had to work on Christmas Eve, never received any wrapped presents, didn't have the tree and glitter, and yet what they had lasted and stayed with them a lot longer until the beginning of January when all the "stuff" was put back into the attic, and everyone went back to their lives as before. Something I hope everyone will think of this Holiday season.

I feel these peeps r crazy for having Christmas Trees up so earlly. Store's is one thing since the biggest shopping day is right after Thanksgiving but I've seen some folks in our subdivision have their Christmas tree up right after Halloween!

We always wait until at least after Thanksgiving like Mid December. seeing that most of us keep it up until after the New Year.

Happy Thanksgiving have safe travels.... take care and by the way Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as well.

As long as you have an artificial tree.........GO FOR IT!!!! Glad to see some more people are into Christmas this year. I have my tree up and actually turned everything on last night even the outside lights. Love this time of year!

It used to be very tacky to put up anything until after Thanksgiving, but this year, I heard a commercial with Christmas music on Halloween. You be the judge... At the rate we're going, it won't be too long before we have Christmas carols all year round...

You forgot to mention live or artificial. Live ones don't do much in the cold tree lot, but in a warm house they start drying out, even with proper trunk cutting and watering, so they might be a little too dead by christmas.

yeh, i was gonna put up ours at my daycare yesterday, but i decided, no it's too early still...wait until the day after Thanksgiving...then there's no way anyone can give you any reason for it to be too early because there are no more holidays between Thanksgiving and Christmas...

Hell yes i don't want mine up till The 12th of Dec and i will take it down on boxing day. I just don't like the mess and the fact it takes over my living room. I have a very small house

It's your house, your tree, what the heck do we have to say about it? Do what makes you happy and don't worry about what we think!
