More information needed.Is this theoretical or experimental determination? Describe the problem and the setup.

Place it on grid paper and count the number of blocks that are covered (including half blocks, etc.). Total the area of the counted blocks. Trace the leaf on a piece of material (cardboard?) and cut out the tracing. Compare the weight with a sample of known size (one square inch). Find the leaf area using ratios. Double the area if you want the total (top and bottom) area of the leaf.
