Hello, asker
Sorry I cannot answer your ‚question’ concerning ‚politicians’ because you don’t say from which party or government or parliament or country they are.
In the internet forums numerous people ask and ask and ask questions about ‚politicians’ like yours.
So I guess you are a part of a group that has something against parlamentarian democracy, will say against democracy.
Many people today seem to have a poor opinion of democracy: Not only do people often disagree with political decisions, and the members of parliament are seen as unscrupulous, willing to do anything to gain power, or abusive of their position and privileges.
Do you try to influence us with this poison, too?
Kind regards,
Rolf

Absolutely!
In 1992, H. Ross Perot scared the beJesus out of 'career' politicians when he promised, "I will be your servant!'
Suddenly, politicians started showing up on TV wearing blue jeans and flannel shirts, claiming they were just "common folks" and not "career politicians". It was the closest we've come to getting term limits to the table.
But the 'career politicians' 'took care' of Perot, made him out to be some kind of crackpot (which he certainly was not; I met the man personally, and to this day believe him to be one of the most intelligent, honorable, honest, decent human beings in the world - much more so than any of the career politicians I've met). Then they 'battened down the hatches' to ensure that no one like Perot ever threatens their exclusive boys' club again.
That's why independent thinkers like Ron Paul and Mike Gravel don't stand a chance of getting the Republican nomination. These guys would be best to run as independents...AND run together.
Politicians today don't give a tinker's damn about their constituents - or their country. They are nothing more than paltry bag-boys for big business. -RKO- 11/17/07

I think you have a point. I hate that they have given themselves retirement plans to die for... and congressman who run for President, like Ron Paul and do NOT win get to KEEP the campaign funds for themselves.
Something is definitely wrong with the picture and needs to be reformed.
John McCain seems to want reform and is a principled man.

Yes, lets vote in people who tell us what we want to hear. Wait, we did that with Bush. He told us we could cut taxes AND increase spending. He told us we should save more and help the economy by spending more. The problem is people want everything, but don't want to give up anything. Maybe instead of electing YesMen, we should elect politicians who aren't afraid to tell the public the bad news.
