They've had this title for decades. Do you think it's still as true today as when it originated?
Personally, I'd still rather see these geriatric rockers more than I'd like to see most of the garbage I hear on the radio these days!

I don't see any other contenders right now.
The Who would've been competition, but I give them points off for "breaking up" for several years. The same with, for example, the Eagles or Pink Floyd.

I am a little torn. I love the Stones, but I don't feel that they are the "greatest rock and roll band" based on their music, even though I really LOVE most of their stuff. I can think of a few bands that, in my opinion, are better musically. However I do feel they are the greatest in the respect that they are practically ancient (I have some suspicions that Keith Richards could actually be a zombie who has risen from the grave), and they are still rockin' as hard today as they did when they were young.

That title belongs to the Beatles. The Rolling Stones started as Beatles wanna bes.

I can't think of anyone young who does rock and roll today. So I guess the Rolling Stones can keep their title.
I always loved the Beatles but they're in a league by themselves.

Yes....well the first 10 years of the Stones were good.
I agree, there isn't one band today that is as good as the old bands because now it is all about making money.

The Rolling Stones have NEVER been the world's greatest Rock Band, in my opinion. I think they simply suck.

Honestly: I hate this band their voices are scratchy and their music is weird

I still think they are at least one of the top 3 ,,,,The others are no longer around or together
