good luck with that.
Don't ever send anyone money. Avoid drama dating, if she has issues she talks about right away, move on.
Don't bother with long distance relationships. There are too many issues involved with relationships and LD makes it worse.
Use good dating sites, not the free ones.
Only respond to people who have 'real' photos on their profile.
One glamor shot is fine, but snapshots are required.
Only respond to people who have their profile fully filled out.
Don't give out your email address. IM as soon as possible using a user name that is not your real name. But make sure you have adequate virus/firewall protection.

and definitely use the site mentioned above to know what else to look for.

Be carefull, don't give out too much info too soon, if you have the slightest niggling doubt/gut reaction - listen to it.
