Hello. I will be 8 1/2 weeks pregnant at my first ob appointment. Will I be able to hear the heart beat or should I not worry if they can't find it? Just a little interested worried at the same time. Thanks

There is a really good possiblity that you won't. Usually the best time to hear it is right around 10 weeks. Now and u/s can pick it up as early as 6 weeks. With me, my uterus is tilted and sometimes we can't get the h/b until 11 or 12 weeks. Good luck. I know how anxious that can make you.

Usually you can hear the heart beat for the first time around 10-12 weeks. It is possible to hear that early but don't freak out if you don't. You will prob be able to see it on ultra sound but again baby is soooo small it can be hard to find. your doctor will tell you what is normal and what is not. Good luck and Congrats

It would be possible to hear the heartbeat that early. It could definately be detected by scan. Generallly speaking, the earliest the heartbeat can be heard by doppler is 9 weeks.

I wasn't able to hear my baby's heartbeat until 10 weeks and she was fine. It depends on the position they are in. So don't panic if they can't locate the heartbeat with the dopplar. They will try at your next visit.

It's possible but I kinda doubt it. Usually at the first appointment, they are busy doing your pap smear and stuff.. I heard the heartbeat at 13 weeks.
