Why not make Mexico the 51st state? Then they could stay there and still get the benefits of our silly nation of pansies.

The question is o.k., your follow up diatribe, is below your usual integrity tho.
I will respond with this :
First, understand, I am a 14th generation American of German - 'South of France'- and American Indian heritage, a 5th Generation Texan, have 2 honorable discharges, traveled, worked and lived in over 50 foreign countries, am retired and have 2 homes, one north of Houston, Texas, and another in a desert mountain valley in Mexico. My wife's from Mexico, and I do converse openly with the local Mexicans, very often !
Now that you understand where I've been, here is the answer to your question :: The Mexicans who come here, both legally ( an extremely diffacult and expensive task), and illegally, do so to better support, educate, house, feed, cloth, and provide for their families. Yes, they too want to live in a better home, and know that their family is safe and sound.
THE 'PLIGHT' of the Average Mexican, is NOT HIS FAULT. The situations he was born into, through no fault of his own, HAS BEEN GENDERED BY A GOVERNMENT(POLITICIANS-POLITICIANS), THAT HAS GONE DOWN THE TRAIL THAT OUR OWN (YES- YES-OUR OWN)POLITICIANS ARE NOW TAKING THE USA DOWN !!!!!!
That is right !!!!! All anyone has to do, is a little basic studying of the USA political 'doings', and the past Mexico
political 'doings', as well as the Russian political 'doings' and SON, BE PREPARED TO SHITZ, BIG TIME !!!!!!
Why do you think we 'older, more experienced, better traveled, political / international observers' are so upset with today's USA politics and politicians ????????????
Felons in Mexico?? Except for some larger cities and some towns along the border, I FEEL SAFER IN MEXICO, THAN I DO IN MOST ANY US CITY, OVER 100,000 POPULATION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For myself the Mexican dream is to remain in their own country that most are disturb with, because of drug cartels calling the shots, paid off government official, corrupt police, judges, and elected officials all on the pay roll >>>why come to the US when you can see the same qualities here alike in Mexico. The old saying is, "power corrupts" and that is one of the biggest truth to Mexico and other countries, but, I be dam to say anyone can make it as easy if it was not for the US and its blundering politicians who thinks they know what is better for Mexico. The US should be helping Mexicans find true democracy within their own borders, Kill all drug cartels, crooked politicians, dishonest judges and etc..US must over throw the Mexican government so its people will not be treated like crapola and has opportunities to make in their own homeland.Additionally, Mexico has a vast amount of natural resources but it is controlled by the rich. So is there really a Mexico dream...I think not....until all of the aforementioned is done and people has a say in their own country. I feel sorry for Mexicans in general, especially when you have to climb a fence, risk your life for a less then minimum wage job in the US, then to find out the US is no different then every other greedy country.

What a question, whats the dream of anyone?? what does it matter? all this talk about border issues and extending fences? Can't believe people in the US still come to the stereotypes of yesterday. You can make stereotypes all day long about any nationality. I am Mexican American and my wife is Laotian, I am in Kabul, Afghanistan right now and my spouse is a school teacher back in San Diego-our home base. I am contributing to my country and society, my spouse as well. I have an BA and my spouse working on her Masters, and no, we do not want the borders to extend or BP Agents to disappear. I believe if a person from another country wants to come to US they should be more than welcome to experience something new. I have traveled to many countries and many more to come in my career. Something more people should do to understand other societies and cultures, and not stereotype ANY nationality.

The Mexican Dream, is NOT to be a neighbor of the USA....that would be a REAL dream....
(Thank God there is a fence there already.....I live on the Mexican side of the border)...
Mexican dream would be NOT to stand the arrogance of underage youngsters coming on spring break....and stay home, for physical integrity sake (and the smell of marijuana)

The dream is to make enough money in the US to retire to a small ranchero (a small farm, not the car but they'd like that too) in their home state of Mexico.
Their other dream is that their kids can get a good education and go to college.
