Its a little different, but different is what makes the world go 'round.....
I am a teacher who has had a lot of 'different' names in my class. I rarely hear kids getting teased because of their name. Yes, some annoying kids get teased, and a name is easy to make fun of when you want to tease someone, but kids do not get teased simply because of their name.
Everytime someone dislikes a name for a baby, their first reaction is to tell the would-be parents that the child "will be teased." Well, EVERY kid gets teased at some time in his life! Kids who are likeable are less likely to be teased, regardless of their names. I had a kid last year named "Quantice" - I can imagine what people would say to anyone wanting to name their kid that......Thing was, he was never laughed at or teased because of his name - He was a cool kid with a great personality, and other kids liked him. This year I have a girl named Erica. There is little you can do in making fun of the name Erica.... But you know what? She is teased a lot - so much so that I have had to pull the teasers aside numerous times to put a stop to it. The reason? She is annoying! Kids don't like her! It has nothing to do with her name; its her personality that causes the teasing!
So, if you like a name, go ahead and name your child that name. Stop worrying about "teasing" - your child's personality is going to be more important than his name when it comes to success in interpersonal relationships. Kids are far more willing these days to accept "strange" names because so many kids have unusual names nowadays.
"Wolf" reminds me of Mozart, and also the kid in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. He was a cute kid, and I liked the name on him...it fit him. I also remember River Phoenix playing a kid named Wolf in the movie "Explorers" Wow, that was many, many years ago...

Wolf is a cool name in theory.. maybe if he were a kickass action character, but maybe not for the average bloke.
why don't you try variations of the word wolf.. like..
Cailean, Caleb, Conall, Connor, Convel, Edon, Eyolf, Faolan, Felan, Ivaylo, Loup, Lupin, Lyall, Marrok, Olcan, Rafe, Raff, Randon, Raul, Tate, Teekon, Ulric.. lol just to name a few
or yeah lol 'Beowulf' .. that's pretty cool too :P
lol no. wolf is much better than beowulf..
hey, if you're confident with it then go for it!
it's not like you cant ever legally change his name ever again.

Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli thought it was pretty cool. His sons name is Wolfgang "Wolf" "Wolfie" William Van Halen after the classical composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Then there's Wolfgang Puck who's a sick chef

I think it is a great name, but the kids at school might not. He may get teased, but it is a beautiful name. If you want to get the unusual, but beautiful effect, try a name like Forest. I love that name. You know, guessing that his last name is johnson you could make his name Forest Wolf Johnson. I think it sounds great!!! You might not though. After all, its your kid to be!!!

It's a fine, strong name. Wolf Blitzer is a famous news commentator and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was one of the world's greatest composers.

I think you must have a very good reason to name your baby Wolf..a very distinct name associated with classical musician and composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart....Maybe he would be as famous as Mozart.

For goodness sake think of how your' son would feel as a teenager/adult with a name like that! He would be made fun of at school and believe it or not he could really suffer because of it. Just because you like it now doesn't give you the right to inflict that on a helpless child.
