Yes. Once, right before Christmas. I have no explanation for it either. I had been fighting (not screaming) w/ my now husband. I went to my dad's and couldn't talk at all. It sucks. Needless to say, my husband was quite happy.

May 1992....I was at Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals, Penguins-Black Hawks at Mellon Arena (the Pittsburgh Civic Arena at the time). The Pens came back from being down 4-1, and when Lemieux popped in the game winner with (I think) 11 seconds left in regulation, I, like everyone else there went absolutely bonkers. Unlike most of the fans, in the process I blew out a vocal chord or something. My voice didn't come back for three days...not that any of my co-workers complained.

In 21 states, Wal-Mart is the only best business enterprise. Jim Gordon, drummer of Derek and the Dominos ("Layla"), killed his mom with a claw hammer. one among Hewlett Packard's first techniques became an automated urinal flusher. Eric Clapton did no longer play the ok-cherished first riff on the track "Layla". That became Duane Allman. Clapton is supplied in later. There are extra automobiles in Southern California than there are cows in India. the two-foot long poultry pronounced as a Kea that lives in New Zealand loves to consume the strips of rubber around automobile living house windows. The province of Alberta, Canada is thoroughly freed from rats.

Often a bad case of strep throat will take out my voice...
But I've been at several concerts and sporting events when I was younger where I have screamed so much that I destroyed my voice for several days...
My voice coach would kill me if I did that now!

I've lost my voice before but not because i talked too much - more because i screamed or had to talk loudly to be heard over other noise.
usually you know if you're losing it because your voice becomes raspy.
but then again what have you been talking too much about?
maybe somewhere deep inside you don't want to talk about something?????
hope you get your voice back soon!

Not by just talking too much. But I have when I've gone out somewhere where I need to speak loud because of the noise, like a concert or something.
