Huh! okay, you have to understand that sensational news sell than natural calamities. Its ok to be mad. What you can do is switch to news channels that only shows what you like. Good Luck.

On one level, of course, you are absolutely right. Any catastrophe like this is a major news story.

However, there's another angle to this. Tip O'Neill used to say all politics is local. Well, that's the same for the news business as well. Something that happens up the street is more important than what happens around the world ... if you live on that street.

Bonds just broke the biggest record in American sports, and his story involving drug use has been a constant story for the last few years. He's been something of a role model to American youth for years, and millions follow the implications of this story. This is not just tabloid journalism about celebrities; this is a pretty major issue.

Can't say I saw many news shows that day, but I know Keith Olbermann had it third on his broadcast. And he's a huge baseball fan. Plus, the Bonds story broke at 5:20 p.m., so when the network news came on at 6:30 it was pretty fresh.

You have to remember that in this day and time the media put celebrities ahead of anything else! The drive-by media seems to think the American public would rather learn about celebrities than real news!
