In a small city. I'm retiring and need somewhere cheap to live.

Lived in one for years. It depends on how its run. If theres no manager on site it can be bad. Drugs, homeless people sleeping in the bathrooms, etc.. It can be a good life also. You are near everything, and always something going on. It may not be as cheap as you think though. You have to pay by the week in most cases, and its probably going to be at least $100. Most places do not let you cook in your room, so you will have the cost of eating in a restaurant everyday.
A better option might be renting a room in a home, with kitchen privileges.
