What do I say so that he doesn't buy it without letting him know it's his christmas present?! Help!!

Tell dad that you have already bought it but it is a Christmas surprise for mum and would he go along with you? Of course when the day comes the surprise is his to delight.

I hope you are okay. If you keep up the good grades and let your emotions out, you will do great. I cant imagine how hard it is for you though. Maybe talk to your mom about leaving him somehow. You seem very educated for a 14 year old. I hope you are okay and that you do great in life, see the flaws in your father and become the exact opposite of him. Good luck

Very subtly tell him that you think he should get a different CD instead of that one because, white lie..., your friends dad bought it andd hated it.Or something. Or just give it to him now and bake him cookies on the real christmas.

Tell your mom. Ask her to tell your dad not to buy himself anything so close to the holidays, as it's more than possible that someone else will also buy him something he would get for himself. This should apply to all family members!

Can't you give it to him now?

On Christmas, just remind him that you have already given over one of his gifts to avoid confusion.

My husband pulls this crap on me sometimes! lol

I keep giving hints- "Don't buy it, you never know if someone already got it," or " Just wait- please wait, someone coulda bought it, I think I mentioned to so and so you wanted it, etc."

He can NOT take a hint so I end up saying "You know what, I bought it- just stop." Then he'll be like "Really??" Duh!
