Yup I think so, sometimes at least.
Like the first avatar of yours that I saw was the flowery fairy thingy, and along with your nickname, it gave me the impression that you're a kind and gentle girl, which is true actually, cos you're really sweet! :)
Anyway yeah I think I tend to kinda link people to their avatars. Like if I'm thinking about a certain contact, the image of his or her avatar would appear in my mind. So even though I know that in real life, the person might not look like what the avatar implies, I think it does leave a first impression. And as for nicknames, in some cases, they do leave some kind of an impression too, since they can reflect a person's hobbies or personality.
Well having an avatar does make it easier for someone to leave an impression on others and to be remembered I think. I mean like, I can't really remember the people on here who have their avatars as the grey man thingy. Yeah and I had the grey man thingy as my avatar for quite some time already, which is why 2 days ago, I decided to create a Yahoo avatar for myself! :) Haha.

When people see my avatar and name, they think I'm a psychotic woman. (I've recieved harassing e-mails because people thought I was psycho and all I did was disagree with them).
As for the others, some people have dirty avatars and ask gross questions. The impression I have is that theyre people with nothing to do. The rest of the people on here, it depends: Example: If someone has an anime avatar, I have the impression that that character is their favorite anime character.

Sometimes... Usually when they use avatars that are different from anyone else... Avatar could also show gender of the user, like the lips or eyes avatars often used my women...
Hmm.. But I don't know what would they think of me..? Coz I've used various kind of avatars, from 12 year-old boy to a man holding a cigarette... >.<

They think i am a sweet little girl just by my avatar and my nickname. I am not saying that i am a mean girl, but that's how people judge me.

I hate to declare i'm making an assumption (for the reason that's frequently the way you're making an *** of your self, LOL), yet i could say the greater off the wall an avatar one chooses to apply is, the greater probably that's how they see themselves. a very violent looking character, as yet another answerer referred to, makes you think of the guy themselves is extremely violent. A benevolent-appearing one, or maybe while they submit their unquestionably (or what feels like their unquestionably) photograph, is greater probably to motivate have confidence and verbal substitute.

I believe Avatar`s can reflect individuals personalities. I personally judge people on their line of questions or answers they give. Dirty Avatar`s i avoid full stop.

I usually judge the persons mood and personality based on how the faces or character is by looking at their avatar.

No, avatars do not represent what is inside a person't heart. When I saw your avatar I all ready had a picture in my mind's eye concerning you...your avatar did not change it. :)
