I want to play splinter cell double agent and it requires a 3.0 ghz processor. I currently have 2.13 ghz. I have a 256 video card and 1gb of RAM. I was wondering if I can play SCDA with only a 2.13ghz.

It wouldn't surprise me if you're 2.13 GHz processor is more powerful than the 3.0 GHz processor that is listed on the system requirements (especially if you have a Core 2).

Some processors do more work per clock cycle then others and the Pentium 4 series was notorious for not doing much per clock cycle (though the P4's did tend to be clocked very high), Athlons were usually marketed with a performance number indicating how it performs compared to a Pentium 4 (well AMD claim that it was actually compared to an older AMD processor but we all know better than that) because they did more work per cycle and so tended to have a lower clock speed.

Your best bet is to try it and see.

You will be able to run this game with those settings however you will experience lag, but the best way to increase is to get a new processor. Getting a new processor will not stop the lag; I advise getting 1gb more ram. Your computer may have the fastest processor ever but if you lack ram its still gonna lag.

Yes, you need a new processor. If the box says you need 3Ghz then it will need that. Having 1GB of memory will only help a little bit but your computer needs to process that data quite fast to give you good game play. Your processor now will just resolve in the game having lag.

I would try it first, before I spent money on a new one, but some of these new games are getting so complicated that you even need to install DirectX 10 for some!
