To enshrine players like Pete Rose and Barry Bonds whose play merits entry into the Hall, but whose disgraceful behavior
should see them barred forever?

Yes! And then finally, Pete Rose will be able to say he's in Cooperstown!

Yeah, I completely agree... Cooperstown should be about baseball history, regardless of it being good or bad. We don't sensor Hitler from history books... we teach about him in history so that people can be educated about what led up to him - and not let it happen again.

No, Cooperstown is truly all that is sacred to the sport of baseball. I would never tarnish or demean the hall in such a way. Cooperstown is a tiny Upstate New York town with all the charm that is missing from America these days, a hall of shame belongs in a big city where they can market it to their hearts content with the usual glitz and glamour that only a large city can offer.

Hey that's not a bad idea actually. Kind of like a "worst dressed" list. They could have a back door entrance at Cooperstown for this. No air-conditioning. Actual betting slips and needles. Maybe some of those wacky mirrors that kids can stand in front of and see the nandrolone effect, etc. A Mark McGuire face that kids can pump up till it almost pops. I like it!

Great idea! While those players have the numbers that are HOF worthy....they shamed the game to such an extent that their numbers on the field are secondary.

We should also add Gary Sheffield to that list. Any player that admits to committing errors on purpose to force a trade deserves to be ridiculed.

as long as you add, mickey mantle, for being a career drunk.
ty cobb for being a racist and almost killing a guy.
phil neikro for altering balls. so on and so forth.
pete rose gambled as a manager, not a player, so induct him as a player, not a manager.
barry bonds has never tested positive. nor did baseball have a rule against using steroids, the years he was accused of using. blame the owners for not stopping what they knew damn well was occurring.

No, the HOF is for fans to enjoy and not to be made a mockery of to satisfy the pleasures of a few. The HOF was created to honor the great players that came before us and to promote the game, not to tear it down.

Good idea. Many of the peole in it are corrupt, and many are actually worthy to be there so Bonds and Rose deserve their place there as well.

I can't imagine any industry or business spending money to create something that perpetuates the memory of those who did them wrong.
