Would it be wrong to ask my BF to see his divorce papers. I do trust him but I just want proof. Is that contradictory? If I could see then my mind would be at ease.

I totally understand where you're coming from. I wanted to see my boyfriends divorce papers. But before I even got the chance to ask him he asked me if I'd like to see them. It really showed me that he had moved on and was ready to start a new relationship. If I was you I would ask him, make it clear that you trust him and that it would help ease your mind. I hope things work out for you. :)

It doesnt surprise me you obviously been hanging in here for a few months if not more and the only reason your asking is because of the cheater's , lier's and garbage questions about it. No wonder your not at ease.

Just sit him down explain that you need to know your both on the right page with how you want your relationship to be , the step's you wish to take , slow step's if I were you divorced men are so annoying because they've been hurt and act like wounded puppies yes my 2nd husband was a divorcee he still hasnt dealt with the crap his 1st wife pulled .

Ask to view the divorce paper's to see how the process worked tell him if he doesnt want you seeing the financial side of it that's fine that's not what your interested in you just want to see her name , his name and judge's stamp decree confirming they are definetly legally divorced and if he refuses or gets angry then sorry he aint divorced has nothing to do with trust it's about respect.

I don't think it is wrong to ask your BF to see his divorce paper. If you and your bf have a close relationship he should be fine with it. Just tell him that you fully trust him but you just want to be at ease because the divorce thing is hanging over your head. If he has a problem with it, then...I don't know what to tell you.

Yes, that does seem contradictory. And with all the stuff that goes down today, I dont blame you.
However, I also dont believe that you really trust him.
So get it off your chest and ask him. So then what will be your reaction, when he becomes offended and for whatever reason does NOT produce them?

To ease your mind, you can ask. Nothing is wrong with that. Just explain to him that you want your peace of mind.

your bf may have issues from a past of cheating woman ..if you love him and understand that issue it should not be a problem... This is very private though . I wouldn't just show them to a casual affair.... he would have to be a part of your new future or it is an invasion of privacy . Trust is earned and for some ppl it takes very clear facts especially if they have a hurtful past w/ lies and deceit

When you say that you trust him the question does not arise to think further. Trust him and forget rest of the things.

ask to see them.
since you don't know anything about divorces you are curious to know what they are all about.

if he refuses -reconsider your trust.

i think you should anyway since your mind is not at ease

It shows you have no trust in his words or even you don't love him. It seems you are after him just for security and sex life. That will not stay long without mutual trust.
