a 15 minute non-stop one way conservation about how things are cheaper in one store versus another. like i give f==k. so i drift off into space about, how would fergie be in bed or how high should the rope be from chair while im standing on it. am i a candidate for the straight jacket, if this continues for another year.

You need to learn to listen, join the conversation, or simply tell her you're drifting off because you really don't care about whatever insignificant subject she is rambling about. We really don't have enough information to know if she is a babbler or you are self-absorbed.

I dont believe so. You're merely not interested in what she's talking about, thus you're ability to tune her out. OR you're not really interested in her. In either case, perhaps you need to merely learn to hold up your end of the conversation. If that doesnt interest you, than you DO have a problem. However, I dont believe it has anything to do with your ears. ;)
