can you please tell me the value of a 1943 silver dime. Is it worth more than a dime.

It's worth whatever the going price of silver is.....probably 30-35 cents. It's worth nothing as a collector's item.

Addendum: If 6.5 x 284 can get you $3.50, take the money and run. I don't know anywhere paying close to that.

It is a common date dime and if in a low grade is worth about 8 times face. Most dealers sell them for $1.50 and even in mint state sell for around $8.00. it is one of those items that has more of a historic value than a monetary one. It may have been in the pocket of some lady building a tank or plane for the war effort. In 1943 we started to win the war or at least make sure the bad guys got stopped in their tracks.

Currently silver is about $14.50 per ounce and the dime contains .07236 ounces or about $1 worth of silver. Most coin dealers will pay a bit less than that (80-90 cents) unless it looks like new, in which case you might get $3.50.
