These questions are more likely a result of self conciousness rather than shallowness, but you can't really say that just because personality is most important to you, that looks aren't important to other people. If I met a woman with a great personality, but was hideous, I could not date her. I don't intentionally put looks before personality; men naturally look for physical attractiveness in their mate because in is a sign of health (wich will be passed on to offspring). There are bilogical factors at play.

The ones I can hardly believe-and that one sees daily-are "am I pregat"? Poor little girls are barely literate but they fear that they might become mothers and so seek some stranger's help? This is tragic. And yes lots of other questions are pretty shallow. Of course I was 14 once upon a time. Being popular:was all the rage back then as well, and high school really sucked!

What's the matter, don't you like yourself? Don't be changing for someone else, only if you need to change because you don't like the way you are. God made you how tall you are, so you can't change that, but you should have your own opinion on how you look and whatnot. Asking questions like that is either begging for approval, or asking to be criticized.

Yes! I think questions like am i cute, am i hot or anything of that along those lines is shallow. Anything like am i too tall or too short is okay.

These types of inquiries are usually from young people or people who have no self- confidence.
Actually, you should know the answers to these questions already and you probably do...so maybe
it's to build your ego or make your head bigger!
Ask yourself this question "What draws me to a person?" I don't believe that the answer will include all those silly questions...hopefully, it will be very much more indepth, if it isn't you need to stand back and look at the big picture!! Thanks for asking.

anything where you need to ask someone else to approve of how you look usually indicates a lack of self confidence/esteem.
Be happy with who/what you are. What matters most is the person you really are on the inside.

They're questions from people with Narcissistic personality disorder or from the insecure. I just don't answer them. How would we know anyway,we aren't there with them :)

Not really shallow, but they do betray a certain lack of self confidence.

Well to answer your question, it seems either that they are insecure, but more likely they think very highly of themselves and want people to reaffirm that fact.
However, as much as I do agree personality is important, it's usually physical features (ie looks) that first attract a person to you. Anyone who says looks mean nothing is, in fact, lying.
