When you watch his games, you see that a lot of his blocks he gets from the weakside. He uses is amazing athleticism to block shot attempts. You see this kind of defense on players like Tyrus thomas as well. Thomas is crazy atheltic and every now and then you see him make a spectacular block. However, they can't defend where they are needed. Amare plays center but there is no center in this league that he can defend adequately. Any center with a decent post game would own the paint against Amare. Notice in the last playoffs, The Suns played Kurt Thomas against Duncan because everybody know that Amare had no chance against Duncan. This offseason, he really should have improved his post defense instead of improving his 3-point shot, which so far has basically been a complete waste of time.
Those 6 blocks only shows that he's got his hops back, nothing more unfortunately . . .

Amare has always been a good blocker.he had troubles in team defense.I haven't watched his games for so long but if he has become successfull in team defense,he has got better

he is constantly lost in the rotation couldn't cover his own man even if his life depended on it.
