Scientificly, the egg. Chickens are distant relitives of a T-rex
chickens are birds. dinosaurs were reptiles. Both reptiles and birds layed eggs. And technichly, eggs have been around a couple billion years longer.(unless your religious(if so none of this is true))

the question really has no answer... but if you believe in God you know he created animals... he didn't make eggs first for the animals to hatch. so the hen came first, and then they starting reproducing.

religion is the only way to answer this question. If not, then nothing could have created the hen. And nothing could have created the hen/chicken.

Going by the alphabetical order, is the fairest method to sort out this kind of tricky problems! Egg would be the first that way! And then the hen and her partner for furthering the race! (The Race! Who came first in the Race?!)

The hen did evolved from a single cell animal and then started hatching eggs. So you have your answer.

Neither. It was a long process before any thing called chicken or egg. The idea that the chicken started first or the egg started first is very, very silly. The idea that a thing so complete as egg or chicken started instantly is brain washing.

The hen, because it evolved from single-cell organism, whereas he eggs is from a hen hatching it.

definitely hen. you can't get egg without hen whereas an egg may result in a male bird which can't lay eggs.

Obviously the egg, because only chickens can lay (chicken) eggs. And the first chicken would have been born as a mutant 'pre-chicken', and been born from a 'pre-chicken's' egg, which by definition... is an egg.
